Virtual patients in clinical decision making – A design-based research approach

This paper reports on a longitudinal, design-based research (DBR) study to promote clinical decision making using virtual patient (VP) simulation for emergency renal care. The VP was piloted with pharmacy students, then offered as an interprofessional learning exercise and medical before being introduced part of the curriculum. In this paper, DBR framework used design, implement evaluate is described. iterative changes made implications integration in curriculum are discussed.
